This back to front duplex home was built with multi generations and aging in place at the forefront. Being that this property was originally purchased by immigrants from Italy we decided to keep the interior design as a taste of Tuscany. And of course, the location of this property is in the heart of “little Italy” on Commercial Drive. The exterior of the home fit perfectly into the long-established Vancouver area home designs.
We made sure that if a family member had any challenges with stairs that the transition of putting in an elevator was easy as we put in the elevator shaft. We also preplanned the wide doorways and turning radius were wheelchair friendly. This duplex won the Georgie Award for Best Duplex.
