Healthy Ageless and Adaptive Homes

Healthy Ageless and Adaptive Homes in Vancouver

At Abstract Homes and Renovations, we look at homes with a holistic approach.

Our clients and friends want to stay in their homes for as long as possible. Through the years, most people experience different stages of ‘change’, and what works for their lifestyle now may not work for them in the future.

We know that Healthy and Ageless are key words that need to be addressed together.

Your Home Visit

We will set up a home visit with you (the homeowners) at your convenience.

This visit is a conversation that discusses your health and how we can best help you to live in your home going forward. Any personal information of your health conditions will be kept confidential.
Let’s discuss your needs and wants, and determine how the Healthy Home Audit would work best for you (a package or ala carte)
Once the audit is complete, we may recommend that our designer, occupational therapist, or both meet with you (depending on the scope of work). We will discuss costs with you for any necessary city permits, or design contract and construction work.
If necessary, we will take any drawings that we have done and apply for permits.
At the time permits go into city hall we will prepare and present a cost-plus contract for the construction and discuss possible start dates for the construction to begin.

When we have permits in hand, we will give a firm ‘start’ date.

2nd Ave - Eastside Reunion

Ageless living – This back to front duplex home was built with multi generations and aging in place at the forefront. We made sure that if a family member had any challenges with stairs that the transition of putting in an elevator was easy as we put in the elevator shaft. We also preplanned the wide doorways and turning radius were wheelchair friendly. There is solid back on washrooms prepping for grab bars. This duplex won the Georgie Award for Best Duplex.
